Ulan Bator, Mongolia, Jun 2 (Prensa Latina) The Mongolian Supreme Court reported today that it will allow the Green Party to participate as an independent entity in the parliamentary elections on June 29th.
The Green Party sent a complaint to the courts against the local Electoral General Commission, because the Commission was not allowing the organization to participate in the upcoming elections.After the decision, the Green Party announced it would take part in the electoral process, and started the selection of candidates, but it is not yet clear if the Electoral General Commission will accept the decision.
In the last few hours, 11 political parties and 3 political alliances have presented the documents with their candidates to the Commission.
The last elections in Mongolia were held on June 26th, 2013, in which Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, from the Democrat Party, was elected president.
