The direct flights between Ulan-Ude, the capital of the Buryatia Republic (Russian Federation), and Ulan-Bator, the capital of Mongolia are supposed to begin in the April, 2010. An agreement between the Russian and Mongolin sides has been recently reached.
The regular flights Ulan-Ude – Ulan-Bator will be carried out by two air carriers, the Russian and Mongolian ones. Which of the Russian companies will fly Ulan-Ude – Ulan-Bator is not yet known.
The decision to open the regular direct flights was made because of the popularity of Mongolia between the tourists from Buryatia. The flight will stimulate the development of tourism in the region.
The direct flights Moscow – Ulan-Bator are carried out by the Aeroflot Air Company.
