USD 100 MILLION TRANSFERRED TO MONGOLIA

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The investors of the "Oyu tolgoi" deposit transferred Tuesday the first part of the advance--USD 100 million to the government of Mongolia, in accordance with the investment agreement on exploiting this deposit established between the Ivanhoe Mines and Rio Tinto company and the government of Mongolia.

The USD 100 million out of the total amount of USD 250 million advance is transferred to the government by a cheque. The Ivanhoe's deputy chairman P.Meredith presented the USD 100 million cheque to S.Bayartsogt, the Minister of Finance.
Last Friday, money of USD 100 with a three per cent-interest, was located in the account of Mongolia's State Fund.
