Russia, Mongolia joint exercises in Sept to combat terrorism

Moscow, Aug 6 (Itar-Tass) Armed Forces of Russia and Mongolia will conduct joint anti-terrorism exercises , the Selenga, in September, Russia's Defence Ministry said in a press release."The exercise will take place from 1 to 10 of September in the Tavan-Tolgoi training center in Mongolia. The maneuvers' topic is - planning and conducting joint counter-terrorism operations with blocking and destruction of irregular armed groups," it said.General management of the training and exercises will be provided by Russia's Commander of the Land Forces Colonel-General Alexander Postnikov.

The planning stage for the joint anti-terrorist operation will be organised in Russia's city of Kyakhta, Republic of Buryatia and in Mongolia the sides will practice shooting to block and destroy irregular forces, the Defense Ministry said."The practical action will attract 250 people from each side," official said.The Russian side will be represented by the 36th Army of the Eastern Military District.
