Vice President for Oyu Tolgoi Project receives supreme management award

Oyu Tolgoi is no longer a construction project, but an operating business -
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - The annual Mongolian Management Association Awards ceremony which selects the best managers in the state, administration, business and social sectors on Tsagaan Sar took place today at the Blue Sky tower. Vice President for Oyu Tolgoi Project S.Sanjdorj was named the best business manager of the Year of the Water Snake and was awarded a pure gold medal and the supreme management award. He is one of the pioneering geologists who discovered the Oyu Tolgoi deposit and also participated in the discovery of the Gunii Hooloi aquifer which is crucial for the mines production.
S.Sanjdorj said: “The Oyu Tolgoi open pit mine, concentrator and accompanying infrastructure – making up one of the most advanced mining complexes in the world - were successfully built in the South Gobi in a very short time. Now operations have stabilised with export shipments continuing without interruption. I am very happy to have participated in this work and to receive this award on behalf of our great workforce. Now we at Oyu Tolgoi must complete the task of continuing to conduct profitable operations in the years ahead”.
