Mongolian experiences heavy snowfall and storm: all routes of the capital city is blocked, Photo story

Heavy snowfall that started last night and continued today blocked all routes out of Ulaanbaatar to rural areas of Mongolia. More than 20 people have been stranded and lost during the snow storm, reported the country's Emergency Management Authority. 

Volunteer groups and personnel of the Emergency Authority have been mobilized to find and rescue stranded people and vehicles in countryside. 

This winter was especially harsh winter for Mongolia coupled with deteriorating economic condition. Low market price of key commodities such as coal and copper which constitute more than 90% of Mongolia's export caused deteriorating living standard and fall of government revenue.
