Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou Visits Mongolia

From May 31 to June 1, 2018, Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou visited Mongolia. During the visit, Kong Xuanyou met respectively with President Khaltmaa Battulga of Mongolia and Minister of Foreign Affairs Damdin Tsogtbaatar as well as held talks with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Davaasuren Damdinsuren of Mongolia. Both sides exchanged views on China-Mongolia relations and international and regional topics of common interest.

Kong Xuanyou expressed that China highly values China-Mongolia relations and hopes that Mongolia will, on the basis of respecting each other's core interests and major concerns, make joint efforts with China to actively conduct exchanges and cooperation in various fields, well implement the achievements and consensus reached during the recent high-level exchanges between both sides, and constantly enrich the connotation of China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership, so as to promote the steady and forward-looking development of China-Mongolia relations. China welcomes President Khaltmaa Battulga of Mongolia to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Qingdao Summit. Both sides should step up the preparatory work to ensure that relevant activities deliver positive results.
The Mongolian side noted that developing its relations with China has always been the primary principle of Mongolia's foreign policy. Mongolia adheres to the one-China principle and is willing to properly handle the Xi Zang-related issue and other sensitive issues, enhance political mutual trust and stick to the correct development direction of bilateral relations. Mongolia is willing to, together with China, strengthen the integration of development strategies, and advance practical cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges so as to push China-Mongolia relations for constant and new development. The Mongolian side thanks China for inviting President Khaltmaa Battulga to attend the SCO Qingdao Summit and expects the trip to be a success.
H.E. Xing Haiming, Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia, H.E. Chai Wenrui, Chinese Consul General in Zamyn-Uud and others attended relevant activities.
