The By-election Victory of Zorigt Dashdorj,the Minerals Minister brought one more seat to MPRP. Power shift in the State Great Khural makes Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) as absolute majority with 46 seats. MPRP is former communist party which ruled Mongolia from 1920s to 1990s. Since 1990s, the party changed its ideology and now it is more like a Central European Socialist party with emphasis on social equality and wellfare.
Currently, Mongolian Democratic Party has 27 seats and Civil Courage Party has 1 seat and Green Party has 1 seat and independents 1 seat each in the State Great Khural.
