Mongolia-N. Korea agree on action plan for 2013-2014

On September 23-26, the Mongolia-DPRK intergovernmental consultative committee for trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation held its ninth meeting in Pyongyang, DPRK. The meeting was co-chaired by Kh.Battulga, Minister for Industry and Agriculture of Mongolia and Ri Ryong Nam, Minister of Foreign Trade of DPRK, and was attended by officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, of Road and Transportation, of Labor, of Construction and Urban Development and of Mining representing Mongolia and officials from the Ministries of Agriculture, of Land and Marine Transport, of Trade and of Railway and
the State Committee for Economic Development  Representing North Korea.

The sides reviewed the current state of bilateral cooperation, discussed issues on fostering bilateral collaboration in the areas of transport, agriculture and sports, and agreed on reflecting definite activities in the action plan for 2013-2014. The meeting resulted in signing a protocol.

During the visit, Minister Kh. Battulga met with Supreme People’s Assembly Presidium President Kim Yong Nam and DPRK Vice Premier Kang Sok Ju. Afterwards, the Mongolian delegation visited the Pyongyang Essential Food Factory and the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory. The meeting coincided with the 65th
anniversary of Mongolia-DPRK diplomatic relations.
