Mongolian President awards medal of friendship to Kuwait Ambassador

Kuwait, Dec 15 (KUNA)—Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga awarded the Medal of Friendship to Kuwait’s Ambassador to Poland and former Ambassador to Mongolia Khaled Al-Fadhli, in recognition of his efforts in the service of good relations between Kuwait and Mongolia.



The Mongolian Ambassador to Poland, Bataa Nemekh, and with the instructions of his Government, handed over the award to Al-Fadhli on behalf of the Mongolian President.

During their meeting, the Mongolian Ambassador praised efforts made by Ambassador Al-Fadhli for five years in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar, which had a great impact on strengthening the relations of the two friendly countries in various fields.

For his part, AmbassadorAl-Fadhli expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga for granting him the Award of Friendship, which reflects the depth of the bilateral relations between the two political leaderships and friendly peoples.

Al-Fadhli pointed out that the Kuwaiti-Mongolian relations have developed in all areas, especially political and economic ones, over 43 years, noting that Kuwait was the first Arab country to open an embassy in the capital Ulaanbaatar in 2010.

He stressed that the Kuwaiti government and people fully recall Mongolia’s principled rejection of the Iraqi invasion in 1990.

Mongolia, Kuwait discuss possibility to cooperate in ‘Belt and Road’ initiative

Foreign Affairs Minister of Mongolia Damdin Tsogtbaatar met with Ambassador of Kuwait to Mongolia Mohammad Faisal Al-Mutairi on November 20.


The Ambassador conveyed greetings of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Ahmad Al Sabah. He expressed his commitment to work for expanding bilateral economic cooperation and thoroughly using the possibility to cooperate in culture and education sectors and put forward a proposal to hold the 2nd meeting of intergovernmental commission in 2019, Mongolian news agency Montsame reports.


Minister D.Tsogtbaatar said that he is pleased with the appointment of experienced diplomat as Ambassador to Mongolia and asked him to pay attention to expanding bilateral cooperation in economy, trade, investment, environment, infrastructure, road and transportation fields. The Minister also underlined a possibility to cooperate within ‘Belt and Road’ initiative.

Moreover, Mr. Tsogtbaatar expressed an interest to collaborate for training oil professionals in Kuwait and for supporting young diplomats who make innovative ideas and conduct researches in promoting peace and introduced an objective of the ‘Awards for future peace, progress and prosperity’ initiated by him.

Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development signs remaining balance of over $3.5m loan deal with Mongolia

KUWAIT CITY, July 19: Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has signed the remaining balance of $3,500,336.61 for Grant Agreement No. 31 with the government of Mongolia to assist in the financing the Undurkhaan Airport in Khentii Province in Mongolia.
The loan agreement was signed on behalf of the government of Mongolia by His Excellency Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the State of Kuwait His Excellency Zorigt Chintushig, while the Deputy Director-General of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Ghanim Suleiman Al-Ghenaiman signed on behalf of the KFAED.
The aim of the project is to enhance economic and social development of Khentii Province through the provision of the necessary infrastructure for air transport. The project consists of all necessary works for the construction of Undurkhaan Airport, which is located in Chinggis City, capital of the province and it’s expected to be completed by June 30th of 2021 at a total cost of a bout $3,500,336.61 which Kuwait fund is sponsoring. The remaining balance of the proposed grant will cover the cost of the project in local currency.
The fund has already provided the government of Mongolia with 4 loans to finance projects in different sectors worth KD 23,972 million, of which KD 23,698 million was withdrawn as at 15/05/2018 and has been 12,025 million repaid. It also provided the government of Mongolia with technical assistance amounting to KD 433,569 to finance the preparation of the technical and economic feasibility studies, which were combined with loans for the same projects.

Kuwaiti Government to build Mosque and residential town for impoverished Kazakhs in Mongolia



This Thursday, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Mongolia  Khalid Yateem Al-Fadhli and Enkhbold Nyamaa, President of Mongolian Red Crescent Society and chairman of Parliamentary standing committee on state structure signed Cooperation agreement to build residential houses and mosque for Kazakh people in western Mongolia affected by flash flood of last summer. 

Under the Cooperation Agreement, Kuwaiti Government to build 35 houses, garden, mosque for about 100 people and 10 lamp-posts, pavement, two water wells in capital of Bayan-Ulgii province.
This project “ Kuwaiti town” have total budget of $ 277, 835 US dollars and expected to be completed by July, 2017.


Last summer, flash flood hit the capital of Bayan-Ulgii province and about 100 families left homeless and more than 10 people died. At that time, neighboring Kazakhstan sent relief aid to Bayan-Ulgii faster than Mongolian government due to close geographic location.

After the disaster, Mongolian Red Cross Society requested Kuwaiti Government to help those affected by disaster.
